Systemic Lupus Erythematosus or SLE is characterized by chronic inflammation caused by an autoimmune disease.

Abnormal antibodies are produced in the bodies of those suffering from Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and can cause inflammation in tissues anywhere in the body.
