The holidays can cause serious problems for people with allergies and lung conditions. Experts say many trees used for holiday decorations are pollinating this time of year. They suggest wearing long sleeves while handling the trees and washing your hands immediately afterwards. For those with serious allergies, an artificial tree might be a good alternative. Experts are also warning to be mindful of people with asthma when lighting fires and scented candles. Particles from fires and fragrances can irritate the lungs and can cause itchy eyes and runny noses.
