The Chanel pre-autumn/winter was inspired by London and aimed to preserve the skills of haute couture workshops that are now disappearing from Paris. The fashion house bought up the remaining five ateliers d’art in Paris, from the French Federation for Craft Professionals in 2002.
Since then they have embarked on a mission to produce a semi-couture collection using the painstaking skills of embroidery, ornamentation and shoemaking.
